COVID-19: FIRS confirm staff tested positive

  The Federal Inland Revenue Service, FIRS, on Tuesday confirmed that its staff, FIRS, has tested positive to coronavirus. Recall that Salihu Umar, a staff of the Federal Inland Revenue Service, FIRS,  had disclosed that he tested positive  for the novel COVID-19. In a series of tweets on Monday, Umar said he is still under self-isolation and that health personnel are making their way to his house for evacuation to Gwagwalada Isolation Centre. FIRS in a statement realeased by its Director, Communications and Liaison Department, Abdullahi Ismaila Ahmad said the staff had isolated himself after suspecting to have picked corona virus while sharing flight with some prominent Nigerians. COVID-19: Badagry LG creates isolation centre

The Chairman, Badagry Local Government in Lagos State, Mr Olusegun Onilude, says the council has created an Emergency Isolation Centre located at St. Thomas Primary School, Badagry, for Coronavirus cases. Mr Sewedo Samuel, Media Aide to the Chairman, said in a statement on Tuesday that the centre would be headed by the Chief Medical Director of the council who would be addressed as Technical Director. Onilude said that the people of Badagry were expected to report themselves to the centre if they had the symptoms or had had physical contact with anyone confirmed positive of COVID-19. He urged the people not to be afraid of the condition of the centre as efforts were currently ongoing to make it home away from home. Femi  Fani Kayode , a former minister for aviation has taken to his official Twitter handle to react to the news that Bauchi state governor,  Bala Mohammed  has tested positive for  coronavirus . The Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) chieftain in his reaction stated that he sincerely and honestly wishes him a quick recovery just as the rest Nigerians.
